Welcome
Welcome to “Great Kids, Great Outdoors,” a new blog from AMC Outdoors, the member magazine of the nonprofit Appalachian Mountain Club. Beginning in June, blogger Kristen Laine will be writing bi-weekly posts about introducing children to outdoor recreation and the natural world. Please check back soon for her first piece, and frequently thereafter as this blog develops. You can make staying up-to-date easier by signing up for an RSS feed.

This blog is a great idea, more ideas of how to get the kids involved with hiking and camping will be much appreciated!
I look forward to reading your posts.

Hi Robin,
Thanks for welcoming me and Great Kids, Great Outdoors to the blogosphere. (And what an amazing place it is, to bring online and outdoor worlds together!) I look forward to sharing ideas and thoughts about families and children in the outdoors.
All best,
Kristen
Hi Kristen,
[There is no email contact I can find for you on this blog, so I'm sending a comment on the first post -- please do not publish this.]
I am gathering blogs that are relevant to Rhode Island's environment into a Drupal feed aggregator at feeds.whitelilac.info, and I want to include your great blog. However, for some reason your RSS does not work for me in this drupal site.
This is what I get when I try to grab the Atom feed:
amcoutdoorskids.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
For the save the bay baykeeper, which also uses blogspot and which does work in my website, the RSS is:
narragansettbaykeeper.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss
I tried adding the ?alt=rss to your RSS and that doesn't work either.
I hope you can find a way to make it easier to republish what you are writing through functioning RSS. It's a great way to get known, and for more people to find your blog. I have some of the categories from feeds.whitelilac.info republishing yet again onto Twitter, and that gets even more visibility for environmental news in Rhode Island.
Thanks!
Susan Korte
